Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings (Elbow, Tee, Reducer, Union, Coupling, Cross, Cap, Swage Nipple, Plug, Bush, Expansion Joint, Adapters, Outlets, Steam Traps, Long Radius Bend, Flanges and Valve)
|What is a Pipe Fitting?|
-A pipe fitting is used in a piping system to join multiple pipes of same diameter and thickness or different sizes. Pipe fittings help to regulate the flow or to measure the flow.
-Pipe fittings are generally manufactured by cold working processes or hot working processes. Hot working or forging processes are generally used to manufacture carbon steel and alloy steel butt weld and forged fittings, while cold working process are mainly used to produce stainless steel elbows, tee and reducers.
-A butt weld pipe fitting is made by the process of hot forming that includes bending and forming to shape. The starting material of butt weld fitting is a pipe that is cut to length, heated and molded into specific shapes by means of dies. Heat treatment is also done to remove residual stresses and obtain desired mechanical properties.

|What are the Differences Between Socket weld and Butt weld Pipe Fittings?|
-Socket Weld (SW) fittings are defined in the ASME B16.11. As with socket weld, a pipe is inserted into a recessed area of the fitting. Both the pipe and the fitting are square cut, with no need for beveled end or preparation other than cleaning the outside, which allows easy welding and installation.
-Butt weld (BW) fittings are defined in the ASME B16.9. They are welded at their ends to pipe end, with the same or different thickness as pipes.
